Ode' to an Island Beater . . .

Road? You don't need no stinkin' road . . .

I learned to drive on the ice - in a rusty old stationwagon that had seen better days.

It's how I learned to drive. It's how everyone I knew learned to drive growing up U.P. North.

On the ice there's no traffic, no trees and no distractions.

Unless you count friends cheering you on from the backseat and daring you to see how many *donuts* you can pull off.

But ice driving does have it's limitations. Sometimes the ice doesn't always cooperate . . .

"It takes 8,460 bolts to assemble an automobile, and one nut to scatter it all over the road." ~Author Unknown
